Thich Nhat Hanh says there is no enlightenment outside of daily life, Buddha also points out that you won't be aware of your own enlightenment in several quoted scriptures.
We all travel through life, looking to find our place, trying to figure out what waking up in the morning really means, where we should be heading, in what manner do we work to achieve the ever evolving goals we set ourselves.
This is a fundamental mistake if you really probe, you should BE, don't try to become, setting yourself goals is of course something you cannot help but do to give your life direction. But what I believe is, set your moral compass up correctly, by doing this you are being, you are in the moment. Then everything else you seek will come to you as a result of holding the right morale's and being in existence instead of chasing it.
But whatever you do, don't be reckless with other people's hearts and emotions.
